Anthony regained consciousness as they pulled into the E.R. Parking Lot but wished he hdn't,. He had pain everywhere, his heart and lungs seem,ed to be on steroids, and they were at THAT E.R. As Wayne and Homer were unloauding Anthony from the car, DR. Loyd came running out, holding up a hand. “No Medical Waste here,” Anthony heard the hated voice. “I've told you before.” “But. . .” Wayne said. “But,” Homer said. “Bu what? But nothing. Get him out of here.” DR. Loyd turned back towards the hospital. “But he's dying,” cried Wayne. “With immediate treatment, he wont make it..” As DR. Loyd paused, got out a stephiscope, turned and walked back to Anthony, in Anthony's eyes the Mask of “Pro Lie” was torn off of DR. Loyd's faceand Anthony sawwhat he truly was, but was no longer able to speak and so could not say it. DR. Loyd set the stephiscsccope to Anthony's chest and listeneda moment. Then he nodded and withrew. “You're right,” he said after a moment of thought. “He is dying.” He pulled a surene with a vial totallly filled with some bright red liquid and stuck it into Anthony's Chest. Anthony's felt his eyes go as wide as they could as he gazed into what he now saw DR. Loyd's eyes truly were and the vial drained its contents into his body but was still unable to articulate it. As he gazed into those cold, empty eyes as the vial finished draining, he fully saw who and what DR. Loyd truly was. He was. . . “There you go,” said DR. Loyd, problem solved. Suddenly, in a panic, Anthony realized that he had breathed out but not breathed in, and then suddenly his worldwen black.

My Niece, Nicole, had been sick for two years. The Cancer had first appeared when she was twenty-eight, but at the time there had been nothing that could be done but watch and wait. Since she had been born with only one kidney, no Health Insurance Company would come near her even before the diagnosis, and certainly not after. “You should just accept your fate, Nick,” I tried to explain to her more than once. “Sometimes The Lord gives us a long life, and sometimes not. If He wanted you to have a long life, he wouldn't have made you subhuman by giving you just one kidney.” Even though that was true, saying it aloud had been a mistake. My sister had thrown me out and not let me back in her house for two months, and only then after an on my belly apology to Nicole, who had only just now, more than a year later, let me start calling her Nick, as her family and friends did, again. Then, of course, came the horrible health care reform law that said Insurance Companies could no longer discriminate against people like her, and even though I and every other Republican in the country had been working hard ever since to get it undone, we had not yet succeeded when she signed up first for Health Insurance. There had been signs, recently, of hope for repealing or at least defunding the awful idea, but these had not achieved the desired end before she had signed up for the operation to fight her cancer. I still thought, as a subhuman monster, she should just accept her fate and die, especially since the law might be undone any day now, but I kept my moth shut, for I knew what my bleeding heart liberal sister, Nick's mother, would do and say if I voiced this opinion. There had been weeks of waiting and preparing, of course. This was not an operation one just had done and then left, and each day those of us on the right side of Health Care Reform, firmly against it, got closer to winning. After all, if a client can not help a company earn a profit, the company should not be compelled to keep them on. But at last the blasted day came. We all went to the hospital, even me. We were all in the waiting room, waiting for who knew what. Suddenly, though, we all turned to The TV. News as we heard the words I'd been waiting for for a long time. “And in a stunningly fast maneuver, both Chambers of Congress have just overridden President Davison's veto of the law repealing his Landmark Justice In Health Care Act. So the law is gone, immediately, and everything reverts to what it was before.” Two minutes later,, the doctors came out. “What happened?” Screamed my sister. “You're too early. Did she die?” A doctor shook his head. “We legally had to stop, where we wee, when the call came through about the law. We were right at the critical point, but we cannot go on. You can go in and see her, but by law there is nothing more we can do.” Then they walked away, leaving my sister and her husband, for once, thankfully, speechless. When we made it to the operating room, we found Nick wide awake, wide open, and screaming. “What in the . . .?” she fought to find words. “'So called Justice in Health Care' was just undone, so the doctors had to stop, right where they were, by law,” I explain. “I told you that. . .” I stop at the looks on her parents' faces. If looks could kill. “So what now?!” she screamed in agony. “Now you get The Hell out of my Hospital and die somewhere else, Monster,” says the director of The Hospital, a former High Raking Republican Congressman whose name escapes me at the moment. “NOW.” We grab the screaming girl by feet and head and start to carry her out. Right when we come to the long hall that the doors lie at he other end of, however, Nick's screams cease. Looking down, we see her last breath leave her lungs and no more come in. “If you say that she deserved this or that this is as it should be, John,” my sister says. “I'll push you out that fifth floor window over there. They didn't even close her up. We'll have to bury her like this.” “You could cremate. . .” I start to say, but but then my brother-in-law's fist connects with my face and everything goes black. 'DANCING AT DEATH BY MATTHEW LUCAS BECKETT “The young and the healthy should not sign-up for so called 'Justice In Health Care'. After all, what is just about forcing you to buy something you don't want and will never need,” I said on my latest radio interview. Of course, my colleagues on the left had a different view. “Anyone can have a heath emergency at any time, Lucian,” they said. “And if Healthy People do not sign up, The Insurance Industry will still refuse to cover People With Preexisting Conditions and the whole effort will have been in vain and will collapse.” “Which means what to me?” I asked bluntly. “People who made bad choices earlier in life should pay for them later in life. That's the way things work.” They became so flustered at this that none of them had an immediate answer and so I walked away. To their consternation and my delight, my fellow People on The Right in every possible sense of the word and my message seemed to be working. “Very few signing up for Health Insurance under 'Justice In Health Care',” reported the evening news anchor near the end of March, 2014. “Causing a danger of the whole thing collapsing.” Of course, they paraded a bunch of people who had not been able to buy Health Insurance under the old system and would not be able to maintain insurance coverage and get their conditions treated if the new system collapsed and their sob stories across the airwaves, but to my surprised delight much of the public was too clever to fall for that. On the critical day at the end of March, there are not enough Healthy People signed up and the new system breaks down, thankfully. “People denied coverage prier to 'Justice In Health Care' having their newfound coverage taken away all across the country,” reported the News Anchors across the country. “Operations halted, and patients turned out of the hospital in mid stream or mid treatment.” “You see what your kind have done, Lucian,” says the Democratic Majority Leader of The House when reports of these, can they really even be called 'people' dying in droves begin to come in. “It's not my fault they made bad choices earlier in life,” I respond. “Many of them were born with these conditions, and got them through no fault of their own,” she screams at me. “Or made mistakes as very young children. You can't classify them as criminals, or put them in that same class, for that.” I walk away before she starts crying, as everyone on the left, male and female, always does about this. A month after the deadline, the last already in treatment person with a preexisting condition who had their treatment halted when the horrible new system collapsed dies, and in the following weeks others with preexisting conditions and other restrictions under the old and, thankfully, restored system, also begin to die. By the time of The 2014 August Recess, everyone who could not get Health Insurance on their own merits is dead, and so when I get off the plain, I begin dancing in the streets. Soon I see an old friend and former colleague and when I tell him “I'm dancing in the streets because every American unworthy of Health Insurance is now dead,” he joins me. Soon, a large group of us are dancing in the streets at the deaths of those who were unworthy of lie anyway, and when a woman cries that her son was born with only one kidney and so it wasn't his fault, we sing “Proud To Be An American” so loudly that she is drowned out and leaves. I hear of similar street dances elsewhere in the county, in fact everywhere in the country we Republicans all dance in the street at the deaths of the uninsurable the entire month of August, and when I have to fly back to Washington for other business, such as dismantling Medicaid, at the end of August, the dancing in the streets at the deaths of those unworthy of any Health Care at all are still going on. SHUTTING DOWN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO STOP HEALTH CARE REFORM IS NO BETTER THAN THIS AND THOSE WHO WOULD DO SO IN REALITY ARE NO BETTER THAN THOSE DANCING IN THE STREETS IN THIS STORY, IN FACT THEY ARE THOSE DANCING IN THE STREETS. THE TEAPARTY-DEATH UNMASKED BY MATTHEW LUCAS BECKETT. “I won't let People Like THAT have Health Insurance, even if I have to completely shut down the government to make it not happen,” whined Representative Joseph Street, stamping his feet on the floor and starting to cry. “I don't care if we've only got control of The House of Representatives, it's the Highway for Health Care Reform or for the Entire Federal Government.” The Speaker of The House sighed and tried yet again to explain. “If we shut down The Federal Government over this, it will hurt The Republican Party overall, because The American People will blame us. Besides, we'll never get it through The Senate and even then there aren't enough votes to override a veto.” “I DO'T CARE,” cried Mike Backhand, stamping feet and fists on the ground and whaling so loudly anyone nearby might hear. “If you want to stay Speaker, you'll bring our bill and no other to the floor.” That stopped Jacob Banner in his tracks. He'd waited his whole life to be Speaker of The House, and he didn't want to lose it so soon. “Very well,” he finally said. “We'll have a go at it.” The gavel came down. “The Bill to keep The Government open but repeal The. . .” he took a deep breath, hating the completely wrongheaded, bleeding heart liberal language, but it was the name of the bill, after all. “Justice In Health Care Bill is adopted. We will stand firm. We will not negotiate. We will never surrender. Send the bill to The Senate.” Of course, as predicted, The Senate refused to even consider a bill with this rider attached. Even many Republican Senators said that this was the wrong way to go about this. “Tell The Senate, it's either The Highway for Health Care Reform or for the whole Government,” screamed Representative Street, stamping his feet and crying again Of course, it at first was The Highway for The Government. Everything shut down. All airports were closed, roadwork went undone, even in mid project, Welfare and Social Security Checks were not sent out. Even the military shut down. This last, in light of a new wave of attacks overseas, is what a month into the shutdown compelled The Senate to adopt The House Bill and enabled both Chambers to Override The President's Veto. “I'm sorry, Sir,” the doctor suddenly said, in the middle of administering my kemo treatment. “Your Health Insurance has just revoked your coverage because of your childhood Brain Injury. Your treatment must end.” “But?” I stammered, stunned. “But what about Justice In Health Care? According to the new law, they can't. . .the preexisting conclusion is banned. . .” I start to stammer some more, but the doctor holds up a hand. “In light of the recent attacks overseas, The Senate adopted The House Bill in order to restart The Military, and an hour ago both Chambers Overrode The President's Veto. So people like you are no longer exempt from the laws of nature. Now I can go back to just treating my deserving patients. You might as well go home and hang yourself. You're going to die just the same or worse now anyway.” I do go home, to my now rejoicing Conservative Family. On the way, I contemplate running my car off the road and ending it, thus essentially following my Extremely Conservative Doctor's Advice, but then I decide against it. “No,,” I say aloud to the otherwise empty car. “My Conservative Family chose this. Let them see the consequences.” When I get home, my Brother-In-Law greets me. “Matt, I'm surprised you didn't kill yourself on the way home, in light of today's events.” “On your account,” I reply coolly. “I thought about it. But then I decided why deprive you and everyone else of the great show that is now coming up.” “Show?” says my sister excitedly, for even at thirty-eight she still gets excited about anything new on TV. “Yes,” I say. “Watching me die slowly and horribly from a cancer that could have been treated under the law that banned excluding those of us with preexisting conditions from The Health Insurance Market but now can not because it is undone,” I say with a fake smile that no one returns. Over the next few weeks, many of my friends with no way to now get their ailments treated do kill themselves, but I wait patiently for death to come to me, even as the cancer begins to eat me alive. “Uncle Matt,” my Nephew Will pleads one day. “If you won't kill yourself, at least stay in your room or cover yourself. I can't stand to look at your lesions..” “You can't stand to look at them?” I raise a quizzical eyebrow. “And how do you think I feel, possessing them? But you and your parents chose this last November at the ballet box, so you must see the results.” Three months after my treatment ended, however, I find that I can no longer get myself out of bed. My body is now covered in lesions, and on TV. Republicans are still singing their victory. “Since undoing The Health Care Law, Insurance Companies are making money again,” said The Speaker of The House on TV. the first day I could not even make it to the bedside pan for the bathroom. “Which is, after all, what companies are supposed to do.” There was a time when that would have at least prompted a shout from me, but now the most I can manage is to wet my pants. Every inch of my body is in pain, every hour of every day. I can't eat any more, so there's only one bathroom product that needs cleaning up now. My family stays out of my room as much as they can, but must pass it every time they enter or leave the house. Suddenly, as I hear them entering the house after I know not what, days and hours are all one blur of agony now, I feel immeasurable pain everywhere in my body. I somehow manage to give a cry and right as they all three rush in, I see the horses beneath them, and then I see The Fourth Horseman, Death, unmask himself on TV., ride straight at me, and then my sun and moon and starts forever shatter. BIT ROMNEY BY MATTHEW LUCAS BECKETT In the middle of September, all the big wigs in The Republican Party met in The Innermost Circle of Hell for a strategy session on a last ditch effort to stop Justice In Health Care from becoming a full reality. “What can we do?” cried Ed Gregbot, Attorney General of Texas, rolling on the hot coals and pounding his fists like the infant he was. “The Supreme Court ruled against the majority of our suit, and then we lost the election. Justice.gov will be up and running in two weeks, and there's nothing we can do about it. Wan, wan, wan.” “Calm down and stop acting like a baby,” snarled Mit Romney, his Pit Bull like face looking ready to bite. “No wonder our party keeps losing Nationwide Elections. Yes, we lost in court and at the ballot box, but there is still a way to keep subhumans with preexisting conditions from getting Health Insurance and so the industry prosperous, and if we pull it off they will remain in our back pockets forever.” “But you said last year you'd keep that part,” said Don Boner, Speaker of The House. “Traitor.” “Ah,” said Mit Romney. “That was what you would call a lie. More specifically, a ploy to dupe the uninsured into voting for me and win and then throw them back among the dogs they are, where they belong.” “So what is this 'other way'?” asked Ed Gregbot. “You hit the nail on the head, Ed,” said Mit Romney. “The website is to be up and running next month. The website is the key to this awful plan. The website is everything. If the website fails, the whole thing falls apart and goes away.” “So?” said Don Boner slowly. “So we make sure it does fail,” said Pit Bull Romney with a snarl on his face and rabid fire in his eyes. “But how?' asked Ed pointedly. “Even if we create a virus and get it on the website, we can not be sure that it will do what we want. Computer programs do unintended things all the time. So how can we be sure that this will work as we want it to.” “Because,” said Pit Bull Romney, pulling out some kind of strange electronic device. “A human virus will do what we want it to. Farewell, my friends. From now on I shall be known as Bit Romney.” Then he pressed a button on the device and both he and it vanished. A moment later a message appeared on the screen of Don Boner's computer. “I am inside the system. I am on my way to Justice.gov to disrupt, destroy and sabotage. When I am caught, I shall probably be deleted, so this is farewell,. But hopefully I'll ruin the Health Care chances of those that should not have it first. I'll see you all in Hell. Oh, that's right, we're already there.” Sanandra was excited. She'd had no Health Insurance at all in ten years. “All because of a mistake I made when I was a little girl, running out in the street, getting hit and getting a traumatic brain injury,” she had told anyone who would listen a thousand times since Justice In Health Care was enacted two years ago. “And now no Republican can stop me.” At midnight on October First, 2013, she sat at her computer and logged-on to Justice.gov. After a fair amount of reading and consideration, she settled on a plan that seemed to suit her needs and selected it. Right as she clicked on purchase, however, her computer buzzed and a pop-up window came up. “You have tried to perform an illegal function. Connection canceled.” Then not only did that website close, so did her home page and then her computer shut down and would not turn back on. “That's a virus,” she muttered. “I know enough about computers to know that's not just an overload response. I didn't think The Republicans would stoop that low, but I guess they did.” Bit Romney watched in satisfaction as computer after computer crashed on the Justice.gov website at his touch. Time flowed differently in this form, so he was not sure how long it took, but eventually he began to see messages that the website had crashed altogether. Then he moved into ensuring the efforts to repair it failed. Finally, with joy and relief, he saw the word get out on the internet that the whole Justice In Health Care Law was a massive failure and the old Money over People System was coming back. “As it should,” he said. Then he felt the line where he was dwelling being shut down and knew, with relief, that he was going back to Hell, to stay this time. THE UNCLEAN BRAIN. BY MATTHEW LUCAS BECKETT. But then .when my dad changed jobs and so our insurance company changed . . “Dear MR. and MRS. Cruiz, we are happy to grant the two of you full coverage under our plan. However, because of your daughter Martha's Traumatic Brain Injury back in 2002, her preexisting condition makes her ineligible for any coverage at all. . .” I didn't hear the rest of the letter. It didn't matter. It was the kid on the playground in fourth grade who called me a retard because I talked funny all over again. Not that it was a total surprise. That was not the first time I had heard that term, it was just with the Health Insurance my parents had already had when I got injured, it was not a “preexisting” condition. What did shock me was my uncle's reaction to hearing about this. “Well, Matt,” he said. “People with unclean brains like you should not have Health Insurance. It is only for Healthy People, and you've been sick for the past six years.  Now they want to say insurance businesses have to cover people like you. Well, I won't have it. Take this.” He hands me a cow bell on a necklace. I stare in confusion. “Put it around your neck,,” he sys. “Whenever you go out. As you approach people, bang it and shout 'unclean brain', so that no one else gets near you and catches your disease.” “Traumatic Brain Injury is not communicable, Uncle Mike,” I protest. “So they say, Matt,” he replies. “But the fact that your parents let you continue to live with them after your release from the hospital, medical waste that you are, suggests otherwise. But wear this and use it whenever you go out if you want to live to see fifteen, Matt.” I stare at him a long time, hoping that he will say he is just kidding, because he is quite a kidder, but there is nothing but hate in his face. “OK,” I say at last. “I'll do this. But from now on, it's Martha to you. Only family and friends call me Matt, and with this you and I are neither.” So, for the next two months, despite my parents objections, every time I go out, I wear Uncle Mike's Bell, bang it and shout “Unclean Brain. Unclean Brain.” A few people move aside as if from a disease, but most people just look at me like I'm crazy, which often causes them to move aside as well. But then. .. “If we want to make the movie, we need to go, right now,” says my mom. We rush out the door, race to the theater, get our tickets and find our seats. As we leave two and a half hours later, however, Uncle Mike is waiting, with a knife in his hand. “Where is your bell, Martha?” he demands. “We didn't have time for that ridiculous thing, Mike. . .” my dad begins, but before he can go farther Uncle Mike's knife is in my chest and everything goes black. I am sorry if all of this seems unreasonable, but it is how I feel and how anti Health Care Reform talk makes me feel.

Until now, however, I have been unsuccessful in fully achieving this end. Yesterday's short story "The Unclean Brain" however, does achieve this. Martha's Uncle Mike is not unlike my uncle Bill. True, he has never actually told me to wear a cow bell and so on, but he thinks those of us with preexisting conditions lives' are worth no more than Uncle Mike in the story does. Nor does any other Republican in the country, so he is not alone. They all really think that those of us with health "issues" should be singled out, in some way marked as inferior beings, and then either rounded up and put in pins or in some other way set apart as "different" and "inferior" from and to the rest of society. As far as I'm concerned, this includes not only Uncle Bill but every other Republican in my family (so-called family)(I'll give my ninety year old grandma a pass, but ONLY her) and my circle of so-called friends. They can say that this is not so, but actions speak louder than words, and their actions say that it is true. If this is truly not the case, let their actions change. Born not out of the warmth of thee womb, but out of the cold of a coma. I was told that it was a car crash, although I do not remember the crash, nor have I ever remembered anything from before the crash, except perhaps the theme song from a Saturday morning cartoon. Originally, they just said that I had had a head injury, although later in my life they came out with the formal, more medical sounding term, Traumatic Brain Injury. Whatever you call it, I had to start over from square one. Fortunately, for the most part, I was a fast learner. Over the next five years, I had a lot of doctors appointments and all kinds of therapy; speech, physical, occupational, cognitive, etc. Fortunately, my parents health insurance understood the meaning of the term and was willing ti help pay for it. But then .when my dad changed jobs and so our insurance company changed . . “Dear MR. and MRS. Cruiz, we are happy to grant the two of you full coverage under our plan. However, because of your daughter Martha's Traumatic Brain Injury back in 2002, her preexisting condition makes her ineligible for any coverage at all. . .” I didn't hear the rest of the letter. It didn't matter. It was the kid on the playground in fourth grade who called me a retard because I talked funny all over again. Not that it was a total surprise. That was not the first time I had heard that term, it was just with the Health Insurance my parents had already had when I got injured, it was not a “preexisting” condition. What did shock me was my uncle's reaction to hearing about this. “Well, Matt,” he said. “People with unclean brains like you should not have Health Insurance. It is only for Healthy People, and you've been sick for the past six years.  Now they want to say insurance businesses have to cover people like you. Well, I won't have it. Take this.” He hands me a cow bell on a necklace. I stare in confusion. “Put it around your neck,,” he sys. “Whenever you go out. As you approach people, bang it and shout 'unclean brain', so that no one else gets near you and catches your disease.” “Traumatic Brain Injury is not communicable, Uncle Mike,” I protest. “So they say, Matt,” he replies. “But the fact that your parents let you continue to live with them after your release from the hospital, medical waste that you are, suggests otherwise. But wear this and use it whenever you go out if you want to live to see fifteen, Matt.” I stare at him a long time, hoping that he will say he is just kidding, because he is quite a kidder, but there is nothing but hate in his face. “OK,” I say at last. “I'll do this. But from now on, it's Martha to you. Only family and friends call me Matt, and with this you and I are neither.” So, for the next two months, despite my parents objections, every time I go out, I wear Uncle Mike's Bell, bang it and shout “Unclean Brain. Unclean Brain.” A few people move aside as if from a disease, but most people just look at me like I'm crazy, which often causes them to move aside as well. But then. .. “If we want to make the movie, we need to go, right now,” says my mom. We rush out the door, race to the theater, get our tickets and find our seats. As we leave two and a half hours later, however, Uncle Mike is waiting, with a knife in his hand. “Where is your bell, Martha?” he demands. “We didn't have time for that ridiculous thing, Mike. . .” my dad begins, but before he can go farther Uncle Mike's knife is in my chest and everything goes black.

FIRE AT WILL

BY MATTHEW LUCAS BECKETT “The Second Amendment is Sacred,” declared Nutcase Rebellious Anarchist, head of The Organization that bore his name. “All of the rest of The Constitution and our Nation's other laws were made by men. But: 'The Right To Bear Arms' came directly from God Himself. So no one may question it in any way.” “You tell 'em Nutcase,” shouted Firehand Triggerfinger at the figure on the bar's TV.. “That's what we need in this country, more people to understand that it is a GOD GIVEN RIGHT, to be able to buy and carry any weapon we want.” “But without The First Amendment,” his sister's boy-friend Mark pointed out. “You wouldn't be able to express that view if the people currently in charge disagreed with you, so it is at least as if not more import. . .” Suddenly, Mark's eyes went wide as Firehhand put a revolver to his large belly and pulled the trigger. “The Second Amendment is all that matters,” declared Fiehand as he kicked Mark's body out of his way and left the bar. “Would you sign this petition for American born Latinos' Right to Vote,” a woman asked him as she approached him right outside the bar. “No,”” Firehand said. He pulled out his revolver and shot her in the face. “There is only one Right that matters. The Right to Keep and Bear Arms.” As he walked down the street, he saw a large crowd outside the new abortion clinic. There were people chanting “Right to Life” others telling them to be quiet, and some of them shouting back “Right To Protest.” “Life and Protest are not Rights that matter either,” said Firehand. He emptied his revolver into the crowd and many fell. The rest scattered. He spat. “All these irrelevant Rights. Only one Right matters.” “Order in the Court, order in the court,” he heard to his left. Looking in, he saw a boy on the witness stand. He stopped to listen in as an attorney finished asking the boy a question. The boy hesitated, then said. “Your Honor, Members of The Jury and attorneys, although I am under eighteen, I believe that I still have Constitutional Rights. Therefore, I invoke my fifth Amendment Right against self incrimina . . .” The boy stopped as Firehand's bullet shattered his head. “Only one Right matters,” said Firehand, then walked on. “Well, what's going on here,” he said, passing a boarded up building with a lot of women and minorities gathered around it. “The company is cheating us,” one of them said. “So we are going on Strike until they grant us Equal Protection under The Law, which we have a Right. . .” The speaker's eyes went wide as Firehand's bullet connected with her temple. “There is only one Right that matters, The Right To Keep and Bear Arms.” “Hold on there son,” said a burly Police Officer appearing out of nowhere. “That doesn't mean you can just walk down the street shooting anyone who annoys you. I'll take that gun.” “NO ONE IS TAKING AWAY MY SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS,” shouted Fireand, shooting the police officer on the spot. “MY gun is MINE, AS GOD INTENDED, and that is all that matters.” Then he kissed his gun and walked home.

REPEAL THE SECOND AMENDMENT, THE TIME HAS COME

Another shooting today? How many do there have to be before enough people wake up to the fact that what NRA really stands for is not National Rifle Association but Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists and there is enough of a ground swell in this country demanding that something be done that The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists and The Republican Party are rolled out of bed and either flee the house before it collapses or are crushed within it? But seriously, how many shootings, mass or otherwise, must there be before something is done. As President Obama said this evening, it is not like The U.S.A. has a monopoly on crazy people, but nowhere else has this many violent incidents. Maybe it is time to repeal The Second Amendment entirely. It was useful in its time, but this is a different day, and all it protects now are lunatics and paranoids. It is not like no Amendment has ever been repealed before. The Twenty-First Amendment repealed The Eighteenth Amendment, and The Thirteenth Amendment nullified everything pertaining yo slavery in The Original Ten, also known as The Bill of Rights. So, perhaps another of these has outlived its time. If it were undone, The NCRA would have no legal ground to stand on and so would have to shut up. This is an idea that's time has come, in fact is well past due, so now let the process begin of repealing The Second Amendment, in its entirety, and then everyone will be safe, PERIOD.

THE BOY WITH NO NAME

BY MATTHEW LUCAS BECKETT “Thomas, you are banished from this family, this community, The Faith and thus The Kingdom,” said the judge. Shela buried her face in her hands and wept. It was true that her twin brother had come out as Gay, which was unforgivable, according to The Law. “But it was really that outsider Matt's fault for seducing him,” she said quietly to herself. “Matt could not have seduced him were Thomas not already inclined towards the abomination,” her husband Eric pointed out. “We must observe The Law and The Custom.” Although her heart was breaking, she nodded, folded her arms and turned her back on her brother's stunned face. Then, as one, all present but Thomas said his first name “Thomas” then spat on the ground. Then, they all said his middle name “Angel” and spat on the ground again. Then his last name “Fairy” and spat on the ground once more. Then, they all wiped their left foot, the foot of The Wicked, in the spit of his identity, and it was over, his name had been forever banished from The Book Of Life. “Shela,” he screamed. “I'm your brother. Don't do this. I can't help who I am and thus who I'm attracted to.” She longed to go to him, to comfort him, to do something, but she could not. It would make her just as damned as he to ever even speak his name again. Thrashing, screaming, crying and threatening, The Boy With No Name was carried from The Council Chamber and thrown into The Darkness Beyond, symbolizing The Eternal Darkness his soul would some day face. After his screaming and cursing from outside the hall had dissolved into sobbing and the sobbing had eventually gone silent, The High Priest addressed them. “The Banishing Ceremony for The Boy With No Name is now concluded. To conduct any other business in the same gathering would be almost as vile as he. Therefore, this meeting is concluded. Return to your homes, and if he approaches any of you, clear him from your path, but otherwise ignore him, for he no longer exists.” Apart from The High Priest, who always left last to secure The Tempe, Shela and Eric were the last to leave. Shela's heart was very heavy. She knew that what had been done must be done, but it was still hard to know that she would never see her twin brother again, in this world or the next. “Shela,” said Eric. “I know what you're thinking. But you mustn't dwell on him.” She gave her husband such a hard look that he took a step back. “When your twin brother, whom you grew up with from day one, has been banished from your presence for life and for eternity, you can talk to me about what I may and may not dwell upon. Until then, you may not.” They both knew that her husband's only sibling had died with his mother in childbirth, and her bringing this up seemed to sting him enough that he did not speak of the matter again. But every day she was reminded of the boy whose very name had been banished from her mind by the ceremony, but she still saw his face in her mind. She also had to admit, in the privacy of her own mind, although never aloud, that the other young man was quite attractive. She had never dared to put it to words, even in her mind, but from puberty she had always wondered if The Boy With No Name was inclined that way. She shook her head, trying in vain to clear her mind of forbidden thoughts, almost as forbidden as what had brought the ceremony of now a month ago about. But it was no use. In spite of everything, blood was blood, and her blood was almost the same as. ..as. . .The Boy With No Name's blood. The only difference was that her blood was from Light and his blood was from Darkness. “But is it really that simple?” she found herself asking one day when she got home from her work an hour before Eric got home from his. “Are any of us really all good or all bad? ALL STRAIGHT OR ALL CROOKED?” She thought back to when she first became aware of her sexuality. It had been mostly boys, of course, but there had been one or two girls that she also very briefly fancied in the very early days of puberty. That is normal. She had been told. Everyone has a little of that early on. What matters is that you settle on the Right Way in the end, when you do settle. “So why did I go the right way when that moment came, but my former twin brother, The Boy With No Name, go the wrong way?” She was deep in contemplation when she felt a presence near her. Turning, she saw a figure detach itself from the shadows. Before her stood a woman. Shela had seen her before. She was a part of the community, but Shela was not sure of her name. “Can I help you?” asked Shela. “If you can't,” the slightly younger woman answered. “No one can. They think I'm. . .think I'm. . .I'm. . .different. Like the boy from a month ago. They want to banish me too.” “And are you? Different, I mean?” asked Shela. “No,” the woman shook her head. “I kissed a woman last night. Just once. Just to see what it was like. But I never want to do it again. I much prefer kissing men. It was. . .I want to say awful, but I guess it wasn't really that different. But I still only want to kiss men from now on. Will you he;p me?” Shela considered a moment. “I'll do what I can,” she finally said. “I can testify to what you just told me. Beyond that, I don't know that I can do much.” “Thank you,” said the barely more than a girl. “Since it seems you've forgotten, my name is Travis.” And then, suddenly, Shela remembered everything, and darkness crashed all around and inside her like a high tide at the sea.

I AM NOT A GAY LAB RAT

So, Republicans really think that those of us who are Gay should or even can be changed into what they call "straight" and at least in Texas have adopted it as part of their official party platform. Well, they ignore science with everything else, certainly the planet, so why not this as well? Of course, there may be some of us who refuse to be treated like lab rats, particularly with CRACK POT science. Tomorrow's short story, though, will show the utter extreme this line of thinking and warped concept of reality can lead to and the even greater potential cost of this kind of thinking.

GAY CONVERSION? THIS IS THE LAST STRAW

I was angry about the refusal by those in bed with The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists to admit that this country has a problem with gun violence even after the children killed at some recent mass shootings. I was angry about the crowd cheering at that 2012 debate when one candidate answered yes to the question of whether or not those of us with preexisting conditions should just be allowed to die (a comment which I personally have never heard any Republican disavow, even though I have been told that some have, and have certainly never had any Republican that I know disavow to my face, even though I have told more than one more than once each that I have a preexisting condition). I was irate or beyond when Dan Patrick talked about The Second Amendment like it was The Second Commandment and then said that he would make sure that those of us with health "issues" in Texas went back to being treated like subhuman pieces of pond sludge, which is how I hear "get Obamacare out of Texas". But even with all of this it still MIGHT have been possible to be rea-son-able. But, after Friday's adoption by The Texas Republican Convention of the endorsement of Conversion Therapy, to turn those of us who are Gay what they call "straight", which is of course calling us crooked, that ship has sailed clean off the face of The Earth, out of this Solar System and even out of The Milky Way Galaxy. I WILL NOT be called an inferior being because of the biology that I was born to have, and those who say that being Gay is in and of itself evil are either saying that GOD created something evil or are attributing creative powers to The Destroyer a.k.a. Satan. Either of these is, to say the least, Theologically Problematic. Also, since we are how we were made to be, trying to use psychiatric treatments to change us is as ridiculous and pointless as trying to use such treatments to turn a man into a woman or a woman into a man. Obviously, this is absurd, but no less absurd than trying to change somebody's Sexual Orientation. They may tell others they have changed so that the TORTURE will end, but identities at these fundamental levels CAN NOT be truly changed, and such attempts SHOULD NOT be made. So, it is both misguided at best, downright evil at worst, to say those of us who are Gay (or any of the rest) need to and or should be converted and absurd to think that we can. That is why I say, THIS IS THE LAST STRAW,and there I end this post, although this fight is just beginning.

Conservatives/Republicans CAN NOT say that they have not been warned. But, no matter how long it has been since Justice In Health Care became THE LAW OF THE LAND, and no matter how many it is proven to benefit and how few it is shown to harm (NONE, ZERO) all Conservatives/Republicans can talk about is getting rid of it. Guns kill more people in The United States than in all other none war zone countries combined, but even when a mad man shoots 26 Elementary School Children, The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists refuses to accept that maybe something should be done about all of this gun violence, and since the only sex The Republican Party gets is from being in bed with The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists, they all always say "Hell No, We Won't Go, Hell No, We Won't Go", and so millions continue to die of this disease. Speaking of diseases, some people seem to think that having a preexisting condition is in and of itself a disease. While some preexisting conditions do come from and SOME even are diseases, the term "preexisting condition" does not itself define a disease. There are many ways one can acquire a less than spotless Health Record. In my case, when I was an eight year old boy, I ran out in the street in front of a car, resulting in a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). I WAS A CHILD WHO MADE A MISTAKE. Because of that mistake, from the time I was Twenty-Six years old until this January, I was unable to purchase Private Health Insurance because of my "Preexisting Condition" and had a Risk Pool required by State Law to always be twice the rate of comparable, private coverage, as my only option. But, for me, it was never about the money, it was about, from my point of view at least, being treated like a second class or second rate Human Being because of a mistake that I made when I was an eight year old CHILD. Now, of course, under Justice In Health Care (THe PATIENT PROTECTION and Affordable Care Act's only TRUE AND ACCURATE nickname), I have private coverage and in fact the Risk Pool no longer exists because it is no longer necessary. But still, all REpublicans can talk about is how awful it is and about undoing it and about how the American People do not want it, despite the fact that t helps millions, harms no one and the final numbers of the sign ups for the fist year exceeded The Obama Administration's Goals. To those on The Wrong that insist on derisively calling it Obamacare, I say, at least President Obama DOES care about those of us for whom a market based and money centered and driven health care system did not work, and if you ere truly even quasi "Pro Life", so would you. Speaking of diseases, there are those that say that the mere fact of being Gay is in and of itself a damnable Spiritual Disease. Yet, if you actually read THE BIBLE, even were those six or seven passages not talking about something completely different (namely using sex as a means of power and domination, se earlier posts) al of these only address actual acts of sex, not simply the fact of being what we today call Gay. So, since while I am Gay, I am also abstinent, there is in fact no problem with that morally. And, of course, if we Gays could get married everywhere, none who are not abstinent would be forced to live in sin. So, whether their emphasis is "Preserve Gun Rights at All costs", "Get THe Unhealthy Out Of My Hospital" or "Kill All The GAys" or a combination of any or even all of these, clearly THe Conservative Philosophy and culture and The Republican Party an d Culture is The Philosophy, THe Party, and most importantly , THE CULTURE of DEATH itself. Death, is what they really want for all gun reasonables, everyone with Health "Issues" and anyone who cares about us and all of those of us who are Gay, or any of the others ,and any and all who care about any of us. Ted Cruize is evil and death itself, incarnate. I HATE all Conservatives and All Republicans. There was a time when if they could have been reasonable about guns and health care, I could have been reasonable about guns and health care, but the guns ship sailed after Sandy Hook when nothing happened and with Health Car at the 2012 Primary debate when the crowd cheered after one o the candidates said yes to the question "Should those with preexisting conditions just be allowed to die", sine although I have been told that many Republicans have indicated that this person did not speak for them,I have never personally heard anyone say this, and certainly none of the Republicans that I know personally have ever said that to my face while looking me in the eyes, even though at least two of them have been told more than once each that I have a preexisting condition. That ship certainly ailed with Dan Patrick's speech after winning The Republican Nomination for LT. Governor when he talked about how important The Second Amendment, as he reads it, is and also about getting Obaacare out of Texas. Has he or anyone he knows ever gotten a letter like the one that i got from Golden Rule when I was twenty-six, saying that they were canceling my coverage because they found out what had happened when I was an eight year old CHILD? Obviously not, and clearly NO Conservative or Republican or anyone any of them know ever has, so since they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about, maybe they should just stop talking. In fact, there is no maybe about it, they should definitely just SHUT UP! Those who oppose gay rights also have no idea what they are talking about and should also just SHUT UP. THE GUN NUTS SHALL BE SILENCED THEIR BULLETS SHALL BE BURNED. THE UNHEALTHY SHALL BE TRETED, AWAY FROM INSURANCE WE SHALL NOT BE TRNED. THE GAYS SHALL LIVE IN FREEDOM, WITHOUT FEAR OF BEING SPURNED. ...WHEN CONSERVATISM IS OVERTURNED. So perhaps everyone who is on the wrong side of any or even all of these things should just stop being wrong, which of course means stop being conservative and stop being a Republican, since that is the entire Conservative Philosophy and the entire Republican Party Platform. Of course, since Conservatism is Wickedness itself incarnate and the Republican Party Evil and Death themselves, incarnate, if everyone stooped belonging to and being these, it would be a very positive development for humanity. Guns do kill people, even if it does take a person to pull the trigger, if a person has a trigger to pull killing someone is a lot easier than other methods. Republicans would have anyone who questions their interpretation of the Second Amendment dead. They would also have those of us with health "issues" dead and cheer about it. They also want al of us gays dead. There was a man whose name was Sam. He was gay and had been shot in the head as a child, resulting in a traumatic brain injury. Because of this he had no insurance, because he lived before Obamacare. One day, he was walking home from work, when he got jumped by a bunch of homophobes. "Make sure that he can no longer use his arms" shouted the leader. "THen he can not play the chello any more." DAN LOVED TO PLAY THE CHELLO. WHEN THEY WERE THROUGH BEATING HIM, THEY LEFT. Dan somehow made it to the doors of the hospital., but they would not admit him because he had no insurance. He died less than three feet from an E.R. He died because a gun gave him a health issue and because he was gay. Republicans see nothing wrong with any of this story and in fact consider it a cause for celebration. That is not "Pro Life", hat us a culture of death, and death itself, since they are death itself, incarnate. Conservatism and The Republican Party ride The Pale Horse, as an earlier post of that exact name points out. If Republicans were truly "Pro Life" and not just "Pro Live Birth", they'd support universal background checks for gun purchases, including private dealers at gun shows, whom if they=can afford a booth at a convention center can afford a background check machine, support the right of everyone to be treated like a Human Being, not a subhuman piece of pond sludge. by all Health Insurance Companies, even those of us with health "issues" and denounce the figurative or even literal stoning of gays for being who we were born to be. Many with preexisting conditions were born with them, so if they were truly pro life, certainly at least those should have the right to decent, basic health care at an affordable rate. But, obviously, as I have said already, clearly they are not truly "Pro Life". They are pro live birth, but once a child is born, they do not care if he or she gets shot, dies of a health "issue" because he or she could not get insurance, or gets killed when sexually mature for being gay. It is time for those of us who have THE RIGHT idea about these issues to stand and fight. With all due respect to peace, love, and understanding, there comes a time, there comes a point, when you simply have to take a stand and make a stand. When you have to stop apologizing for who and what you are, stop retreating, turn to face the foe, draw a line in the sand, plant your feet firmly on the ground, square your shoulders and draw your sword. For me, at least, that time has come. and, of course, swing to kill at anyone who crosses that line. Let all choose which side they are on and what they are prepared to do about it, NOW, because, THE STORM HAS BROKEN.

DOES MIGHT MAKE RIGHT?

This is a good question. Clearly, The Gun Lobby thinks so, since they spend millions ensuring that no one has their guns taken away, not that that is what any of us are actually talking about doing anyway, but that is beside the current point. But they argue that since criminals can get military grade weapons to do break ins, civilians should be allowed to have military grade weapons to defend themselves and their homes. So, whoever has the biggest gun always wins, right? Let's think about that. In THE BIBLE, in the first book of Samuel, Goliath was a giant who was armed to the teeth with steel armor and weapons, while David was a boy with a sling shot. So, obviously, Goliath crushed David with a single blow. No, wait, that's not right. Oh, yeah, David's stone hit Goliath in just the right place, and so David won. Of course, there is no doubt that David had GOD'S Help with that, so maybe outside of that circumstance, the biggest guns always do in fact win. Let's see, in The American Revolution, The British had bigger guns and a bigger and more classically trained army, so of course we're all still British subjects, right? Wait a minute, no we're not. So, clearly the biggest guns do not always win. But, even if might does not always win, might still makes right, right? Goliath had might, but he was wrong. The British had might, but they were wrong. Throughout history, most conquering armies had might, but in many if not most cases today we would look on what they did as wrong. So, clearly not only does the biggest gun not always win, but even if they do, that does bot necessarily make it right. As noted earlier this week, guns in the home are as if not more likely to be used on the home owner or by the home owner on a friend or family member as or than to stop a break in. So, clearly, guns do not rally do that much if anything to keep us safer and in fact seem to make us less safe. Obviously, we all want our families and friends safe, but we do not all agree on the method. So, what gun enthusiasts need to ask themselves is, in light of solid, empirical evidence, not the scare tactics of The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists, is their way really the best way? And if not, how might those of us on each side of this debate work together to find solutions to these problems, because, while we differ on methods, in the end we all want basically the same thing and at the core are not that different from one another.

WE GAYS SHALL LIVE IN FREEDOM

A time is coming, and is not all that far away, when everyone will realize that who we all are Sexual Orientation wise is how we are born and is no more a choice then what gender or what ethnicity we are born into. When this time comes, everyone will realize that those of us who are Gay (or Bi or Transgendered, but since I personally am Gay, I'll speak in that voice) should no more be discriminated against for who we are than Women or Ethnic Minorities. When this time comes, those who believe in outdated and incorrect ideas of morality and so on will have a choice, join The Twenty-First Century and stop assuming that different is in and of itself bad and so must be destroyed, or become irrelevant and be swept away as no more than a footnote t history, if that. It is your choice, but make it now, and live by it, because the time is coming when WE GAYS SHALL LIVE IN FREEDOM, WITHOUT FEAR OF BEING SPURNED.

THE WINDS ARE CHANGING SEVENTEEN

As noted in an earlier post, clearly Republicans were wrong that Americans as a group did not want what they call Obamacare and what I call At Least President Obama Does Care, If they were truly "Pro Life" they would too or Justice In Health Care. Of course, it makes sense that they would be doing everything they can now to undermine it, since as it more fully takes effect it will be and become clearer to more and more people that it is good for everyone and bad for no one. As this happens and its benefits become more and more clear, it will become more and more clear how foolish Republicans were to oppose even one comma of it in the first place, and it will become less and less popular and so less and less possible to undo it. By November the electorate will have realized how wrong Republicans were to oppose The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act since everyone will realize they know someone who has benefited from it, and what they presently think will be a watershed election item for them will in fact turn out to be the flood that sweeps them all away. Certainly, any Republican I know who has not changed their mind about this enough to not vote for anyone who opposes even one coma,I mean comma, of it on November Fourth I will never know again, PERIOD. Yes, the winds are changing, and we all know what happens when you run against the wind.

I'M SURE GLAD GUNS ARE MAKING US ALL SAFE

I recently heard about a man who shot a cabby because he thought the cabby was taking him somewhere by the long route to get a higher fair. Seriously? Was that really worth someone's life? And why would you even think of doing something like that? Is this what The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists are talking about with protecting our homes and our families from the government and from criminals? Shooting a man who is just trying to earn a living to feed his family because your own stupid paranoia tells you that he is trying to cheat you? Is this really a society that any of us who are not gun nut cases want to live in? If not, maybe it is time to do something about it. In the meantime, in light of this incident, I say to The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists, "I'm sure gled guns are making us all safe."

THE REAL STORY-SIXTEEN

I finally figured out why Republicans are so against any kind of gun control. I know now why they do not want to upset The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists. I understand why they do not want to get out of bed with The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists. It is actually quite obvious, and as simple and profound a motivation as any Human Being ever has. The simple fact is, if Republicans were not getting it from The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists, they would not be getting it at all. As I said, a simple explanation, but one of the most profound human relationships in existence.

SEVEN VERSUS THOUSANDS

If this was truly a "Christian" Country, there would be less emphasis placed on the six or seven verses that Conservative so-called Christians misinterpret to be saying, as Fred Phelps put it "God Hates Gays" and more emphasis placed on the thousands of places it talks about taking care of "widows and orphans", which, in today's terminology we would call the powerless, since in that society if you were not connected to an adult male you were considered nothing.

THE UNHEALTHY SHALL BE TREATED

In his acceptance speech for The Republican nomination for LT. Governor tonight, Dan Patrick said that he was going to "get Obamacare out of TExas". As someone who for twelve years had my very humanity denied because when I was an eight year old child I sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury as the result of making the mistake of running out into the street in front of a car, words do not exist in any language to express how angry that made and still makes me. THere was a time when if Republicans could have been reasonable about Health Care, I could have been reasonable about Health Care. That ship sailed when the crowd cheered at the prospect of those of us with preexisting conditions just being allowed to die at one of the 2012 Primary Debates, but until now it could have returned to harbor. NOW, however, it has gone so far out to sea that there is no way it will ever be able to find any shore. Justice in Health Care will be undone over my DEAD body. I have had it. I am not going back to being treated like a subhuman piece of pond sludge because I made a mistake when I was an eight year old CHILD,nor should anyone else have to go back to being treated like that because of illnesses or injuries or even things that they were born with that none of us can help in the here and now. Anyone who reads this who agrees with me should take some action, and anyone who reads it who disagrees with me SHALL change their minds or stop calling themselves my family or my friend, IMMEDIATELY. Anyone on the so-called "right" who has not told me by Sunday, June 1st, 2014, that they have come around to being a total supporter of Justice In Health Care I no longer know and will not have any further contact than I can possibly help with. As I said, there was a time when if they could have been rea-son-able, I could have been rea-son-able, but that ship is now sailed totally out of sight and shall never see land again. So, everyone now has a one word ultimatum which they must do, now, CHOOSE. Because "THe Unhealthy Shall Be Treated, Away From Insurance We Shall Not Be Turned".

DID I MISS THAT COMMANDMENT

Tonight, in his victory speech at having won the Republican Nomination for LT. Governor, DAn Patrick all but equated preserving gun rights with being true to GOD. As if The Second Amendment to The United States Constitution is The Second Commandment. Did I miss something? I thought The Second Commandment in Exodus was not to make graven images and Worship them instead of The One True God, and in The Gospels to love our neighbors as ourselves, and there is nothing in The Parable of The Good Semarton about guns or weapons of any kind. So why do Republicans act like "The Right To Bear Arms" comes directly from GOD? Because I do not see anything in THe Bible that supports that theory,although if anyone can show me such a palace, I will be willing to check it out.

A SIMPLE QUESTION THIRTY-FOUR

Why is it that Conservatives want government completely out of people's lives when it comes to feeding, clothing, sheltering or giving medical care to the poor but want government all over people's lives when it comes to what those of us born with different biology do in the privacy of our own bedrooms?

BANISH THE SHADOWS OF SHAME SIXTEEN

For far too long, The Religious so-called "Right" has forced those us are Homosexuals, Bisexuals or Transgendered People to live in The Shadows, to live in Shame. Shame for who we are and the shadows so that the rest of the world, the "decent people" as they would say, do not have to look at or see us. They also say that we should keep silent so that "decent people" do not have to even hear us, much less listen. I say "NO MORE". I say let us shout so loud that we CAN NOT be drowned out "We are Human Beings/People TOO". I say that it is time to stop being ashamed of who we are and were made to be, or let others put shame upon us. It is time to step out of the shadows and be counted as we are in the light of day, not to continue to hide ourselves in the dark of night. In short, it is time to show those on the so-called "Right" that they in fact could not possibly be more wrong, and to forever from our sight, BANISH THE SHADOWS OF SHAME.

THE CHANGE IS COMING FIFTY-TWO

This week another State's ban on Gay marriage was struck down by a judge. The State in question has vowed to appeal, and who knows how all of that will turn out. But, the change is coming. Sooner or later, enough people are going to realize that those of us born with different biology can not help who we are, that being who we were made to be can not therefore in and of itself be a sin, and so that we should not be punished for being who we were born to be. Once this happens, those that oppose our Right to be treated with dignity, respect and equality in all things, including marriage, will dwindle in number until their shouts are burt whispers drowned out by the shout of freedom from all of those of us who are gay, or any of the rest, and our true family and true friends. Then we shall all sing "Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, we are free at last" and the voices of hate are forever silenced. That day is about to dawn, THE CHANGE IS COMING.

EXPANDING MEDICAID WILL END THE DROUGHT SIXTEEN

Throughout THE BIBLE, GOD is ALWAYS a friend to the powerless. Those that say the drought is a punishment for this country's tolerance for those of us with different biology are wrong and have clearly only ever read seven disparate verses of Scripture. If we want GOD to be a friend to us, we should follow the advice of the MAJORITY of GOD'S Word and be a friend to the powerless. In MATTHEW, CHAPTER 25, verses 31 through 46, Jesus spells it out even more specifically. Among other things, those who care for "the least of those among" us when they are sick care for Jesus when He is sick. Those will be judged among the righteous sheep and admitted to The Kingdom, those that do not care for "the least of these" when they are sick fail to do so for Him when He is sick and will be sent to The Fire. This passage is of course talking about the Last Judgement, but it could also be referring to matters in the meantime. If Rick Perry and or The Texas Legislature continue to resist expanding Medicaid, this passage leaves no doubt about their Eternity. But, if they did expand Medicaid, not only would they improve their Eternity, but the current drought would end in a heart beat. So, rather than pray for rain itself, I will pray for their hearts to opened to "the least of these" and then the rest will follow without a doubt. Be a friend to the powerless, and we are friends to He that calls the rain, and then He will be our friend. Otherwise, the current weather trend will continue indefinitely.

THE AWAKENING SEVENTEEN

At least some people seem to at last be waking up to the truth about The Gun Lobby, namely, that it is a pack of absolute and total lunatics. It's only taken fifteen years or more, and I've lost track of how many mass shootings at the hands of everyone from High School Students to Army Officers and everyone in between, including more than one person killing Elementary School Children, to reach this point. Of course, even now, the lunatics will fight hard to ensure that Private Gun Dealers at Gun Shows can continue to sell guns to people with criminal histories that reach to Pluto and Mental Health Histories that reach to the next galaxy, but it is beginning to look like things may have FINALLY gone far enough that their voices may finally be drowned out by the voices of reason and sanity. Not that they or their allies in Congress and elsewhere will give up their love of power over the good of people without a fight, but now at least, at last, there is beginning to be an army of people that have had enough of gun violence to take them on. I hope there is, and I hope we do win. It may take a long time to win this war, but, now at least, at last, THE AWAKENING has begun.

ADOOLF PALIN/SARAH HITLER

I have heard that those tat cheered at the Republican 2012 Presidential Primary Debate when after the moderator asked if those with Preexisting Conditions should just be allowed to die and one of the candidates said "yes" did not speak for all or even most Republicans. Funny, I've never heard anyone say that on live National TV. or Radio, nor have any of The Republicans I know ever said it to me, even though at least some of them are aware tat I have a Preexisting Condition. If anyone on the so-called "Right" had EVER given any amount of compromise on Justice In Health Care, as I correctly call it, I might have been wiling to give something too, but it is FAR too late for that now. I have been told that the majority of Republicans might be wiling to compromise on this but remain silent because they are afraid of The so-called Tea Party wing of the party. There was another movement, a few decades back, that the majority of the people would not necessarily have supported but remained silent about out of fear, which enabled this group to come to power and then nearly destroy the world. This party was, of course, Adolf Hitler and The Nazi Party. Now, am comparing Sarah Palin and The Tea Party to Adolf Hitler and The Nazi Party? Yes, I am. Both parties were run by fanatics who were and are absolutely convinced that their view of the world and how the world should be was and is ABSOLUTELY the right and only way that can possibly be right, and that any who disagreed/disagrees with them were totally wrong and that any kind of compromise was and is a mortal sin. Both believed/believe that certain people should just be dead, in the 1930s it was Jews, Homosexuals and People with Disabilities, in the present swap Jews for those of us with Preexisting Conditions and the rest of the list stays the same. In both cases, a shouting radical minority overpowered the silent, I've been told, reasonable majority and nearly destroyed/is seeking to destroy every ounce of Decency and being treated with Basic Human Decency and Dignity. So, it is really not unreasonable to compare Sarah Palin to Adolf Hitler and The Tea Party to The Nazi Party, and if there are indeed a majority of Republicans for whom these people do not speak, let them stand up, be heard, shout down the minority and return to decency and Basic Human Decency and Dignity to this society. Otherwise, well, we all know how World War II ended for Germany.

BRAINS OF MUSH AND HEARTS OF STONE

How many bullets from a Nut Case in one sane person's brain worth? That is a question worth asking any member of The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists, since they funnel millions of dollars to The Republican Party, particularly whenever there is a mass shooting, to ensure that common sense and reasonable restrictions on fire arms purchasing and ownership do not became law or preferably even come out of committee. Of course, it makes sense that Nut Cases wouldn't want to have anything to do with common sense or anything sane, since Nut Cases are, after all, by definition, INSANE. But the question still arises, since the bottom line is how much The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists give The Republican Party to ensure that nothing happens with guns after mass shootings, how many bullets from a Nut Case is one Sane Person's Brain worth? Evidently, to Republicans, at least, the answer is one, if that, since no matter how many innocent people, mostly sane although I'll give them that there are some that are insane, have their lives lost to people that would never have been able to get their hands on a gun at a gun store obtain guns from private dealers at gun shows and then go on shooting rampages, the idea of closing the so-called gun show loophole, although hole big enough to steer a barge through might be more accurate, is still met with an absolute stone wall of resistance from every single Republican. Of course, stone is an apt term for people who CAN NOT hear mothers crying for their children who died in senseless gun violence. Stone, because they have shut their eyes, ears, hearts and minds to reason. Stone, because even if their hearts could hear said mothers, they would not care. Yes, I am saying that every supporter of The Nut CAse Rebellious Anarchists, and all of its actual members, not only have completely insane brains, but also hearts of stone, and I challenge and defy any reader of this to prove one comma of this in any sense wrong.

THE LIGHTNING FLASHES

Yes, when I was an eight year old CHILD, I made the mistake of running out into the street in front of a car. But every child makes mistakes, albeit not all that serious. Yes, as a result of this mistake, I sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (what at the time was just called a head injury). But does that mean that I should be punished for life for a mistake I made when I was an eight year old CHILD? Golden Rule Health Insurance certainly thought so when they cancelled my first independent Health Insurance Policy when they found out about this and said that had they known about this they would not have issued the policy because of my "Preexisting Condition". Every other Private Health Insurance Company that I then applied to shared this opinion for the same reason, since after Golden Rule I realized that "what serious health issues have you had within the past five years?" really meant "what serious health issues have you had in your entire life?" and so I gave that, including the tonselectomy at three and rosiola when I was two in addition to the car accident and TBI at eight. So, from the time I as Twenty-Six until this January (I turned Thirty-Eight last November, you do the math) I had The Texas Risk Pool as my only option, which is certainly better than what people like me (if there are any, sometimes I wonder, for few if any of then ever say much) in States with not even that had. While The Risk Pool was required by Texas Law to always be twice the rate of comparable, private coverage (I guess the idea was to make it so onerous that people would quickly find alternatives, but for some of us there were no alternatives) what really bothered me was not the money, money for its own sake means nothing to me, although I do like food, clothing, shelter and entertainment. What really bothered me, though, was that it seemed to me that I was regarded as some kind of subhuman pond scum because of a mistake that I made when I was an eight year old CHILD. On January First of this year, 2014, of course, The PATIENT PROTECTION and Affordable Care Act came fully into effect and that kind of discrimination became illegal. I now have private Health Insurance through The Market Place Exchange, and since it was no longer needed, THe Risk Pool ceased to exist at the end of March. But, still, even four years after the law was passed and some of its full benefits are starting to come into effect, all any Republican can talk about is how horrible it is and how it must be undone as much and as soon as possible. At one of the 2012 Republican Presidential Primary Debates, when the subject was Health Care, the moderator even asked if those (of us) with Preexisting Conditions should just be allowed to die, one of the Candidates said "yes", and the crowd cheered, and no Republican I know has ever said to me those that did that did not speak for them, even though I have told my grandma and and my aunt more than once each that I have a "preexisting condition", which only leaves me to assume that that crowd did speak for them. Well, I, for one, WON'T HAVE IT. Either every Republican I know stops being a Republican and meets the rest of a week ago Monday's Demands, or I will NEVER speak to any of them again. But that is not all, from now on, Republicans will have no peace from me, those that I associate with and those in the State and National capitals. THE LIGHTNING FLASHES, and it will set fires wherever it strikes. There will be no peace, for the storm is almost upon those that would cheer at the deaths of people like me. THE LIGHTNING FLASHES, and where it strikes, the ground will be scorched beyond redemption. THE LIGHTNING FLASHES, and everyone on whom it flashes' eyes will go dark forever, but their hearts will be exposed to then and others as being dark and devoid of even Humanity Itself. THE LIGHTNING FLASHES, and its strikes will burn all who would cheer at death to less than ashes. THE LIGHTNING FLASHES, AND NATURE TAKES NO PRISONERS WHERE IT STRIKES. THE LIGHTNING FLASHES, AND THOSE THAT OPPOSE PROTECTING PATIENTS FROM GREEDY BUSINESS MEN WHO CARE NOTHING FOR HUMAN LIFE ABND OMNLY FOR MAKING MONEY WILLL EITHER CHANGE OR BE DESTROYED THE LIGHTNING FLASHES, AND THE LIGHT WILL EXPOSE THE DARKNESS IN THE HEARTS OF INSURANCE EXECUTIVES WHO SUPPORTED REFORM WITH THEIR MOUTHS BUT FOUGHT IT WITH THEIR POCKET BOOKS (HM,.WHERE HAVE WE HEARD ABOUT PEOPLE WHOSE LIPS SAY ONE THING BUT WHOSE ACTIONS SAY ANOTHER BEFORE?). THE LIGHTNING FLASHES, AND THE LIGHT FROM ITS BURSTS WILL BRING AN END TO THE DECEPTION OF ANY WHO OPPOSE PUTTING PATIENTS FIRST BUT WHO CALLL THEMSELVES "PRO LIFE". THE LIGHTNING FLASHES AND THE FIRES WILL RAGE, AND ALL IN THEIR WAY WILL RUN FOR THEIR LIVES OR LOSE THEM, AND EVEN THOSE THAT RUN WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ESCAPE UNLESS THEY SEE THE LIGHT ABOUT JUSTICE IN HEALTH CARE REFORM AND CHANGE THEIR ACTIONS, THINKING AND WAYS. THE LIGHTNING FLASHES, AND ALL OPPOSITION TO JUSTICE IN HEALTH CARE WILL BE STRUCK AND KILLED BY IT. INDEED, THE LIGHTNING FLASHES!

WHILE WE'RE ON THE SUBJECT OF WHAT JESUS SAID

While we're on the subject of what Jesus said, there is one place in one of The Four Gospels in which Jesus does give a detailed description of the last judgement, namely in The Gospel According to Saint Matthew, Chapter 25, verses 31-46, commonly known as The Sheep and The Goats. In these verses, there is one thing and only one thing that Jesus says will count in that Judgement, and that is how we treat "The Least of Those among" us. Among other things, this includes did we care for "the least of these" (verse 45) when they were sick or not and in so doing care for Him when He was sick or not. Those that did will be judged among The Righteous and given Eternal Life in The Kingdom, those that did not will be judged among the wicked and sent to eternal punishment in the Eternal Fire. So, who should we care for if we are to care for "The Least of These"? Obviously, The Poor and those who can not afford to buy their own Health Insurance or pay for medical treatment out of pocket. In other words, at least among others, those on Medicaid would be counted in this number, as would those who could be on Medicaid if every State in The Union, including Texas, adopted The Medicaid Expansion possible under The PATIENT PROTECTION and Affordable Care Act, aka At Least President Barack Obama DOES care, aka Justice In Health Care (Justice in Its True, BIBLICAL sense). Therefore, although THe Supreme Court has said this expansion is legally optional, Matthew 25, verses 41 through 45, make it abundantly clear that it IS NOT morally optional. Rick Perry and others talk a good game about this being a Christian Country and all that, but as noted yesterday the one thing GOD does say in The Bible that GOD hates is those that praise GOD with their lips while refusing to care for those of GOD'S children that are in need. Throughout The Bible, GOD is ALWAYS a friend to the powerless, as the passage that I sighted above clearly demonstrates and proves beyond any trace or even shadow of a doubt. So, if we are Truly a Christian Nation, no-one would let their totally unjustified and unreasonable hatred for one President get in the way of making sure that all of "The Least of These" get cared for when they are sick. Otherwise, we are those who Worship GOD with our lips but not in our hearts, and read Jeremiah to find out the consequences of that.

MY GOD IS THE GOD OF LOVE, NOT HATE

When recently the first openly Gay College Football Player was drafted into The NFL, one NFL Player tweeted, OMG (Oh My God) and several others came out with similar statements. I am both a Christian and a gay man, and in my eyes that is not a conflict, because as a Christian, I Worship a God who cared so much for His Creation that He sent His Only Son to die for the Redemption of The World, to borrow an idea although not an exact quote from The Gospel according to John. Jesus came to tear down the barriers, not reinforce the old ones or build new ones. Barriers are built by humans, not by God, and we should learn from Jesus that God's arms are big enough to enfold all in His embrace. While we're on the subject of Jesus, I will repeat what I know that I have said before, that nowhere in any of The Four Gospels does Jesus Himself ever say a word about what we today call people's sexual orientation either way. What Jesus did talk a lot about was how we should all love each other and if there is any judging to be done, leave that judging to God. So if this particular football player worships the same God I do, which I assume he does, perhaps he should remember that God is Love, not Hate, and that the only thing God ever says He hates is those that Worship God with their lips but whose hearts remain hard to the suffering world around them. I would also point out that there is a Force of Hate in this world, but that it is not one of Heaven. So, perhaps it is time that we headed Jesus Christ's New Commandment to Love each other, just as He has Loved us, again borrowing an idea but not directly quoting from one or more of The Gospels, and leave the rest to God.

IN BED WITH A COLT FORTY-FIVE SEVEN

"OH, DO ME GUN LOBBY". "I'M DIING YOU REPUBLICAN PARTY." "DO ME HARDER." "I'M DING YOU AS HARD AS I CAN." "OH, YES. FIRE 'UM AS HARD AND AS RAPIDLY AS YOU CAN." "ALL RIGHT. JUST KEEP MAKING SURE NO LIBERAL BLEEDING HEART GETS IN OUR WAY." Some may think this bit of dialogue is a bit extreme, and perhaps it is. BUT, it does illustrate the point of how in bed with the gun lobby The Republican Party is. There is a mass shooting somewhere in this country almost every week it seems. Something that I heard from the news paper this evening basically said that more people die of gun violence in the United States every year than in the entire rest of the world combined, except obviously where there are active military conflicts, the precise numbers and countries escape me at the moment, but that is basically what it amounted to. Yet, every time there is a mass shooting, The Nut Case Rebellious Anarchists (very clever to drop the C so people would believe it stands for National Rifle Association, but I at least am clever enough to see through this smoke screen) make such a ruckus against the prospect of any kind of reasonable restrictions on gun purchases, such as Universal Back Ground Checks, that nothing gets done. If the entire Republican Party were not practically literally IN BED with the Gun Lobby, this would not be the case. No one is really talking about taking guns away from people who have no history of criminal activity or mental illness and use them in a lawful manner. We are just saying that we should be sure all sales at gun shows should have back ground checks, even those from private dealers, and if you can afford to set up a booth in a convention center, yo can afford a back ground check machine. What people choose to do in their own homes, short of shooting others or aiming a gun at others except in self defense, is of course their own business. But anyone who says that all dealers at an Official Gun Show, even private dealers, should not be required by law to do a background check for all purchases is by definition a lunatic and should be locked up and the key destroyed. That is how I know that it is really NCRA, and everyone agrees nut cases should be locked up.
