THE STORM NEARS

Preserve Gun Rights At All Costs Advocates say they do not like to be called Nut Cases. Maybe if they did not act like Nut Cases, we would not call them that. Few if any people are really talking about taking away every single gun from every single person. Let me clear, that is NOT, I REPEAT NOT what gun control is about. But, if every teacher at Sandy Hook had had a gun, the death toll from cross fire alone would have been ten times worse. But, my main point tonight is that while it would not have prevented every mass shooting, if people buying guns at gun shows had to go through the same criminal and mental health background checks that people buying gums at gun stores had to go through, many tragedies could have been prevented. I am not talking here about what happens in someone's garage or backyard, I am talking about official, registered gun shows in official venues. I know some say that that would cost too much, but is a human life that could be lost through selling a gun to a lunatic worth lees than any amount of money. And, to anyone who answers yes, I ask, how can you cal yourself "Pro Life"? Obviously, if you spouse both of these, you are a hypocrite and a liar. And your time is coming. My Storm is nearing. You have been warned.

OUR DAWN BEGINS TO BREAK

Some have said that allowing Homosexuals to marry will harm the institution of marriage, yet they can never say why. The truth is, they can't say why because there is no hard evidence that they can point to to prove that it will in any way harm marriage to allow those of us born with different biology to marry who we were made to love. Some say that their Faith prevents them from recognizing Gays as Equals, but everything in THE BIBLE about sex of that nature is talking about using sex as power, not about a loving, mutually affirming relationship, and that is what all marriages should be, although not what all marriages, Homosexual or Heterosexual, in fact are. But forcing a Homosexual into a Heterosexual marriage in order to make them conform to what society says is "normal" is certainly not going to result in a loving, mutually affirming relationship. Yet that is the kind of thing that has happened for decades if not centuries, Homosexuals have been forced to conform to society's norms and keep our true natures in the closet, in the shadows. But now, as the shadows begin to lift and the closet doors to open, those who are afraid of anything new are clinging to old and flawed interpretations of various passages of Scripture, when in reality it is their fear of the unknown and that maybe their parents and grandparents were wrong about something that drives their fervor. But,our dawn is breaking, our closet doors are not only opening but being smashed, and we WILL and therefore CAN NOT be forced back inside them. Our light begins to shine, and soon it will overpower the darkness of their hatred, and then all will see that we are ALL GOD'S children, not just Heterosexuals, and then our dawn shall truly break.

WHILE WE ARE ON THE SUBJEECT

So, as I said last week, in case David Dewhurst has not heard, Healthcare.gov is now up and running just fine, and the only food fight now is by those in his party to return those of us with preexisting conditions to the sludge pile. Did I say food fight? I meant mud wrestle or grunge match. Perhaps if he or anyone he knew had ever gotten a letter like the one I got from Golden Rule Insurance twelve years ago, saying that because they had found out that I had had a traumatic brain injury in 1984 when I was eight years old (for those not good at math, I was twenty-six when I received this letter) they were cancelling my coverage, he would understand the need for Justice In Health Care, as I call what others call Obamacare, and at least President Obama does care about those of us for whom profits over people did not work, if they're so pro life, why don't they? Oh, silly me, I forgot that life ends at the end of the birth canal, since once a child is born not only does whether it can get health care not matter, but also whether it can get food, clean drinking water, clothing,, shelter, or anything else needed to exist outside the womb. Also, Texas has the highest rate of uninsured in the country, and with turning down the Medicaid Expansion Dollars to stand o some STUPID, racist principle, not only are we turning down free money, we're insuring that millions of working poor remain uninsured, and that is not "Pro Life" unless you believe, as Republicans evidently do, that life ends once a person is born. While we're on the subject, I was also not aware that Barak Obama was running for LT. Governor of Texas, especially since he still has two years left as President of The United States. So perhaps MR. Dewhurst should be speaking to matters pertaining to why he is better qualified for that job than those who are running against him. I realize that all of this may be difficult to understand and a lot to take in for people who had to extract and destroy their brains to register to vote, so I'll end it there so that any Republican readers I have do not have the Conservative Central Computer Controlled Chip in their heads overload.

THE GAUNTLET (NOTEBOOK) IS CAST

David Dewhurst has a lot of gal talking about the problems the problems with the roll out of the Justice In Health Care website when everyone knows that all of the problems it had were due to sabotage by Republican Hackers. Also, in case he hasn't heard, despite these efforts, the website is now up and running and working just fine. Also, if his party was Truly "Pro Life" they would support The right of ALL to have descent, basic Health Care at an Affordable Rate, including those of us with preexisting conditions. As I have already said, for me, it is not about the money, or strictly about me. It is about everyone being treated like a Human Being, not some being treated like subhuman sludge because of mistakes we made when we were children or even were born with. There, the gauntlet (or notebook, as I am a writer) has been cast down. Now Justice in Health Care Opposers can either pick it up and fight me in a political (not physical) duel to the death or wave a white flag, which I may or may not accept.

HURLING DOWN THE GAUNTLET

If Ted Newgent likes guns so much, why doesn't he just use one on himself. The whole of Humanity would be better off without him around. The whole world would be better off if every racist pig who can not stand the fact that a Black Man is now President f The United States killed themselves. I'm sure he thinks people like me with preexisting conditions should just kill ourselves. After all, I've never heard any Republican, not even from my own family, disavow what one contender for The Republican Nomination in the 2012 race said, namely that people like me should just be allowed to die. DO NOT misunderstand me, I no longer care at all what happens to me personally, I just thought people that claim to be my family and claim to be my friends might, but since they obviously do not, they obviously are not. I am also sure that Ted Nejewent thinks that I should kill myself because I am Gay, but I absolutely disrespectfully disagree. I have no respect left for anyone who in any way identifies with that philosophy or that party, and anyone I know that belongs to it must cease to belong to it if they EVER want me to speak to them again. There, the gauntlet has been cast, hurled down at the feet of Conservatism and The Republican Party, and now they must either pick it up and fight me or wave the white flag, which I may or may not accept.

HOMOPHOBES ARE STUPID

Wednesday at the mall my grandma said a Republican is a Democrat who got smart. As a Gay Man I would have to disagree. The Republican Party Platform holds that being Gay is in and of itself an unforgivable sin that will sentence me to eternal damnation for the choice that I made which of course also implies that it is a choice. Now, any Homosexual has ever endured one Homophobic slur, and certainly any who have gotten attacked for who they are can tell you that it is not a choice, and that thinking that it is a choice is hardly a sign of superior intelligence. Also, anyone who is smart and calls themselves a Follower of Jesus Christ would look first to His words for Moral Guidance, and nowhere in any of The Four Gospels does Jesus Himself ever say one word either way about what we today call People's Sexual Orientation, and since in The Person of Jesus Christ God spoke to us as One of us, if that mater were that important to God Jesus would have touched on it. So both in arguing that who one is attracted to is a choice and in saying that, to quote Fred Phelps "God hates Gays" far from being a sign that Republicans are smarter than Democrats this is in fact a sign that Republicans are far less intelligent than Democrats. Also, there is of course the simple fact that prejudice of any kind, including Homophobia, is a sign of ignorance and small mindedness. So,, in total, the fact of Republicans' anti Gay stance alone proves beyond doubt that, far from Republicans being Democrats who got smart, in fact Democrats are Republicans who got smart.

WHAT RON PAUL NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND

This morning at my Church's Men's Breakfast I was reminded that during a 2011 Republican Primary Debate Ron Paul said that Americans who had not bothered to buy Health Insurance essentially had no one but themselves to blame if they got sick or injured and did not have coverage, that it was their own fault and so, the whole field agreed, they should just be left to die. What MR. Ron Paul needs to understand is that, prior to the passage of The PATIENT PROTECTION And Affordable Care Act, those of us with what The Health Insurance INDUSTRY calls "Preexisting Conditions" who live in States that did not have even a Risk Pool (which Texas, amazingly, did) had no options for purchasing Health Insurance because,, before being required to by Law, Health Insurance Companies would not come near us with a Ten-Thousand Foot Pole. So perhaps MR. Ron Paul and others should make sure that they have some idea what they are talking about before they open their mouths.

THE COMING STORM

Some of my family and friends who share my position on what I call Justice In Health Care and others have variously called Obamacare, The ACA, The Affordable Care Act or its full actual name, The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act have called some of what I have said on this blog and in live situations extreme and said that I should be reasonable and try to meet the other side half way and compromise in some way. But thee truth is, I have TRIED to be reasonable, I have done my best and bent over backwards to reach some kind of middle ground or compromise. But I have found no one wiling to do this from the other side. The Republican Idea of "compromise" is a total surrender from those of us who support putting Patients Above Profits in Health Care to their position that money counts for more than People's Lives. Mit Romney is the first and only Republican that I have ever heard even acknowledge that the term "Preexisting Condition" even exists. No alternative that they have put forward does anything to address this problem, or the bigger problem with the old system that this was but a symptom of, that it put making money at a higher standard than making people well. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the idea of companies making a profit when they are selling commodities, the trouble is, Life and Health are not commodities, they are essentials, and Republicans have persistently failed to acknowledge or even understand that. Therefore, with all due respect to peace, love and understanding, there comes a time, there comes a point, when one simply has to stop apologizing for who one is, stop retreating, turn to face the foe, draw a line in the sand, plant one's feet firmly on the ground, square one's shoulders and draw one's sword. For me, as someone who now has Private Health Insurance for the first time, that time has come. I am NOT going back to being treated as a subhuman because of a mistake I made when I was an eight year old child. I am The Towering Inferno of Justice. I AM THE COMING STORM. Those who agree with my position on Justice In Health Care have two choices: draw your own swords and stand beside me, or get and stay The Hell out of my way, because as of this moment, 12:08A.m. on the morning of Sunday, February Ninth, 2014, I am taking NO prisoners.

WHO EXACTLY ARE WE HURTING

Those who promote the hatred of Gays say that they must protect the institution of marriage from Gay marriage. But no one of that position has ever explained how exactly allowing those of us whose biology only allows us to be romantically attracted to people of our own gender to marry those we are able to love harms the institution of marriage in any way. We are not proposing ending Heterosexual marriage, for one thing, our species would die off. I realize at least one short story on this blog did have all but Gay marriage banned, but that story was being used to make a point and see how Gay Haters felt being on the other side of things for once. I am certainly not really promoting that, but I would like to be able to marry my Boy-Friend,,if I ever come to that point with another man. I personally may not, of course, but others have, do and will, and they should have the right, under the law, to marry whom they choose. Churches can of course choose who they do and do not perform marriages with, and many more open minded Religious Institutions are coming around to the view that performing gay marriages is not against The Law of God, since The Greatest Two Commandments are about love. But be that as it may, as a legal matter, there should be equality under the law. Separation of Church and State means not only The Church stays out of the government but the government stays out of the Church. As a Legal Matter, no one has ever given a coherent argument why those of us who are Gay should not have the Right to the same recognition of our unions as those who are Heterosexual. So, I close by repeating the title of this post, who exactly are we hurting?

OBAMACARE IS ABOUT MORE THAN MONEY

While it is nice to be paying half the monthly Health Insurance Rate now that I can obtain Private Insurance under THE PATIENT PROTECTION and Affordable Care Act as I was under The Risk Pool that was my only option prior to the full implementation of the new law, for me it is not really about the money. It has NEVER been about the money. It is about being robbed of basic Human Dignity and Decency. It is about being regarded as inferior Human Beings because of, in my case, a mistake I made when I was an eight year old child, and in some people;s cases something they were born with. That is why in my posts on the subject I always use the law's full name and always type PATIENT PROTECTION in all Capital Letters. To emphasize that those who oppose this law do not want to protected those of us with Preexisting Conditions and other Health Issues from being treated as inferior Human Beings because of Health Issues over which we have no control. Perhaps supporters think if they do not emphasize this they can in some way make peace with Justice In Health Care Opponents. I also realize there are some things that those in political or Church Leadership Positions, being the leaders of all of the people can not without creating upheaval, say. BUT I CAN. Anyone who opposes protecting those of us with checkered Health Histories from being regarded a and treated as ?Inferior Human Beings, is an agent of Death, and that is certaibnly NOT 'PRO LIFE'.
